Satisfaction Perhaps... a semi-weekly podcast starring Isaac Kessler and Peter Morley, plus whoever else happens to stop by.

Some things you should know about podcasts

What is a podcast?
A podcast is basically just a radio show that can be downloaded from the internet. It's a simple mp3 file. Where the "podcasting" bit comes in is, rather than having to visit a website every time a new episode of a podcast is released and downloading it, you can subscribe to a podcast and have episodes automatically transfer to your mp3 player as soon as they are placed online.

Can I just listen to the podcast without subscribing?
Of course, you can either listen to it using the player built in to the website (just click the play button), or you can download individual episodes by right clicking on the download link, and selecting "Save As"

How do I subscribe to a podcast?
First step is to download and install some podcasting software. Two of the most popular are Juice and iTunes. I recommend Juice because iTunes is bloated and crap.
The second step is to copy the subscription URL of the podcast from its website, and paste it into your podcasting software. Once you are subscribed your podcasting software will download the latest episode of the programme automatically.

Do I need an iPod to listen to a podcast?
Not at all. Again, a podcast is just and mp3 file, and as such any device that can play mp3's can play podcasts. Even if you don't want to subscribe to a podcast you can download the episodes individually, and listen to them on your computer, your non iPod mp3 player, your mobile phone, etc.

Because you are broadcasting on the internet, does that mean you are free from the censorship you hear on radio and are free to swear and defame as much as you want?
Hahaha. Yes. Exactly.

  • Satisfaction Perhaps Episode List  ( 13 items )
Satisfaction Perhaps stars Isaac Kessler and Peter Morley. Regular and semi-regular segments include How Ya Doing, Jew Review, Canadumb, News of the Commonwealth, Time Travel Interview, Irish Jig, and Jason and the Vase of Freedom. Each show is around about an hour long.

  • Individual clips from the Jew Review segment  ( 8 items )
For those who don't have time to listen to a full hour long podcast, why not try small bites of the individual segments? Each week in Jew Review, Isaac takes an object to review, gives his opinion on it, and a score out of 10. Then Peter usually tries to ruin the review and derail the discussion.

  • Individual clips from the Time Travel Interview segment  ( 9 items )
For those who don't have time to listen to a full hour long podcast, why not try small bites of the individual segments? Few people realise that there is a transdimensional time travelling portal inside Isaac's apartment, or wherever we're recording the show from that week. Few people also realise that Isaac often requires Peter to run errands for him, that take him away from the portal. When these two events combine, a famous figure from history will often show up, and give Isaac the opportunity for the interview of a lifetime!

  • Individual clips from the Jason ATVOF segment  ( 8 items )
For those who don't have time to listen to a full hour long podcast, why not try small bites of the individual segments? Here at Satisfaction Perhaps we remember a simpler time, when life was less complicated -- the 1940's. Moustaches were all the rage, people from a small little island to the west of France went around Europe causing trouble, and radio was king of the airwaves. And what were the most popular shows on radio? The radio serial.

So we decided to resurrect this forgotten art form, and each week we present another chapter in the story of Jason, a boy whose family has been mysteriously kidnapped, and his quest to rescue them -- with the help of his good friends Charlie Tease, a local leprechaun, and Mercury, his pet falcon.

NB - Unlike other segments on Satisfaction Perhaps, because JATVOF is an ongoing story we recommend you start with Episode 1 and listen to the clips sequentially.

  • Satisfaction Perhaps: The Early Days  ( 6 items )
In here you'll find the first few podcasts we recorded, whilst the show was still taking shape. These episodes mostly don't have any segments or structure, and very little editing, so you'll find things like people talking over each other, long awkward silences, and confusion about what we are talking about. The quality may be a little shaky, but it's interesting to hear back to how it all started... and there are some damn funny moments too.
